Barcelona has a habit of identifying young talent before the rest of Europe catches on. Jesse Bisiwu, an 18-year-old winger from Club Brugge, is the latest name to fit that description.

The Catalan club reached a full agreement with Club Brugge on July 11, 2026, securing the transfer of the Belgian-Ghanaian winger. Only a medical examination and the completion of administrative paperwork stand between Bisiwu and an official move to Spain.

How the deal came together

Barcelona’s opening bid of €10 million was rejected outright by Club Brugge. Subsequent negotiations produced a structure that includes performance-related bonuses alongside a sell-on clause, meaning Brugge retain a financial interest in Bisiwu’s future value.

Bisiwu’s contract with Club Brugge runs until 2027, which gave the Belgian side meaningful leverage at the table. Barcelona had been tracking Bisiwu since at least April 2026, meaning formal negotiations were the conclusion of a scouting process that had been running for months.
