The Madlanga Commission's deadline to hand its final report has been extended to November 16 by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana said it is too soon to estimate the costs for the implementation of the recommendations of the Madlanga Commission on Inquiry.

“The commission’s work has not yet been concluded, so it is premature to estimate the cost implications of implementing the recommendations,” Godongwana said.

He made the comment when he was responding to parliamentary questions from MK Party MP Visvin Reddy, who posed questions on matters related to the funding of the commission.

Godongwana referred a question about the expenditure incurred to date on the Madlanga Commission to the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development.
