Over 100 district-level guide teachers for the National Children’s Science Congress (NCSC), professors and students participated in a training camp organised by the PG and Research Department of Chemistry, Bishop Heber College, and the Tamil Nadu Science Forum (TNSF), Tiruchi on Friday.Based on the theme “Science and Innovation for Sustainability,” the training covered detailed sessions on R5 waste management (reduce, reuse, retrieve, redesign and recycle), E4 energy (explore, experiment, enhance, evolve), water management, food, agriculture and health and the use of Indian Knowledge Systems for sustainability, project preparation, and presentation.Practical guidance was provided on selecting an appropriate sub-theme for research projects for the NCSC and mentoring child scientists, among other topics.
