COTABATO CITY–Five people were killed while six others remain missing following a massive landslide that struck Barangay Ngingir in the town of Calanogas, Lanao del Sur, in the early hours of Friday.
Capt. Steffi Salanguit, speaking for Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-BAR), said the landslide occurred at around 2:30 a.m. after continuous heavy rains brought by Super Typhoon ‘Inday’ triggered the collapse of a large section of a hill.
The landslide buried several houses.
