U.S. futures for the S&P 500 were down 0.2% and futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.1%. Changes in futures do not necessarily predict movements after the opening bell.

In Europe, the Stoxx Europe 600 gained 0.2% in morning trading. easyJet added 13.5% and Vodafone Group rose 11.1%. On the other hand, St. James's Place sunk 6.1%, and Barry Callebaut lost 2.5%. The FTSE 100 added 0.3%. Other stocks in Europe were mixed as France's CAC 40 increased 0.2% and Germany's DAX held steady.

The Wall Street Journal Dollar Index dropped 0.2% to 97.13.

In commodities, Brent crude dropped 0.8% to $75.67 a barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.8% to $71.50 a barrel. The European benchmark price for natural gas, the Dutch futures contract TTF, was down 2.2% to 49.17 euros a megawatt hour.

The German 10-year Bund yield rose by 2 basis points to 3.072% from 3.055%, and the yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury declined by 2 basis points to 4.534% from 4.558%. Bond prices and yields move in opposite directions.
