The public relations office of the IRGC Vali-e Asr Corps in Khuzestan Province issued a statement on Thursday, July 9, announcing that three of its personnel were killed during early-morning U.S. airstrikes on several sectors across the province.
While the official communiqué did not specify the exact locations where the casualties occurred, Iranian media had previously quoted the Deputy Governor of Khuzestan for Security and Law Enforcement Affairs, who stated that three individuals were killed and several others wounded in the vicinity of Ahvaz during Thursday morning’s U.S. bombardments.
These latest deaths add to a growing military toll following multiple waves of American airstrikes:
Wednesday, July 8: The Islamic Republic of Iran Army confirmed the deaths of eight of its personnel, while the IRGC confirmed one fatality from the first night of U.S. strikes.
Thursday, July 9: Simultaneously, the Deputy Governor of Hormozgan Province for Political, Security, and Social Affairs reported that three people were killed and 15 others wounded during strikes targeting Sirik Island.
