The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Kermanshah Province announced that two of its members were killed and two others wounded on Monday evening, June 29, during a shooting by armed individuals in front of their homes in Paveh County.

The public relations office of the IRGC’s Nabi Akram Corps in Kermanshah Province described the attack as a “terrorist act” in a brief statement, adding that the case is currently under investigation by relevant authorities.

According to the statement, Borhan Karisani and Khaled Khaledi, two local members of the IRGC, lost their lives after shots were fired at the entrances of their residences. Official authorities have not yet released further details regarding the incident or the identities of the attackers.

The Hengaw Organization for Human Rights reported that a newly established group named “Khor-e Hiva” has claimed responsibility for the attack. Hengaw also stated that Kamal Abdi and Kamel Hajiji, two other IRGC members, were severely wounded in the assault.

This marks the second security incident of its kind in recent days. A few days ago, media outlets close to the IRGC reported armed clashes around the city of Baneh, stating that at least three military personnel were killed and five others were wounded in those confrontations.
