The Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has proposed seven civic infrastructure and sports development projects in Anna Nagar Zone.The projects, funded under Anna Nagar MLA Constituency Development Funds of V.K. Ramkumar of the TVK, include the construction of an indoor badminton stadium on sixth cross street, Collectorate Colony, at a cost of ₹40.35 lakh, along with associated facilities worth ₹20.08 lakh.An existing cricket ground will also be developed on a vacant site at Shenoy Nagar 1st Street at an estimated cost of ₹33 lakh, with supporting infrastructure works costing ₹16.53 lakh.The civic works also include installing a reverse osmosis drinking water plant at the Crescent playground at a cost of ₹4.83 lakh. Gymnasium equipment will be installed at the Vinayakapuram 1st Street gymnasium for ₹12.40 lakh and at the Mehta Nagar gymnasium for ₹8.22 lakh. Published - July 09, 2026 08:50 pm IST
