Long before curved, sculptural homes became a fixture of luxury real estate, French architect Claude Misbach was experimenting with the idea on the Mediterranean coast. One of his most recognizable designs is this waterfront villa in Ramatuelle, near Saint-Tropez, where a series of honeycomb-inspired forms appear to spill down toward the sea.
The roughly 5,000-square-foot home sits within a gated waterfront estate overlooking the Mediterranean and is now on the market for 28.5 million euros (about $32.5 million) with Engel & Völkers Private Office. The property includes seven en suite bedrooms, a separate guest or staff apartment, and a private mooring buoy where you can anchor your runabout.
Designed in the 1970s, the 15-room residence, arranged as a collection of interconnected hexagonal spaces, was built to take advantage of its seaside setting. Large windows and expansive terraces face the water, filling the living and entertaining spaces with natural light throughout the day. Several lounges and sitting areas open directly outdoors, making it easy to enjoy the Mediterranean sunshine.
