The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru chapter, will organise the first edition of the CII Mangaluru Healthcare Summit 2026 in Mangaluru on Saturday.The summit will be held at Hotel Avatar in Attavar from 10 a.m. under the theme, “Advancing coastal Karnataka as a global healthcare destination.”Addressing presspersons here on Thursday, Abhinav Bansal, chairman of CII, Mangaluru chapter, said the summit aims to provide a collaborative platform to deliberate on strengthening Mangaluru and coastal Karnataka as a future-ready healthcare ecosystem. It will bring together healthcare leaders, hospital administrators, policymakers, MedTech innovators, academia, investors, technology providers, doctors, industry stakeholders, and other healthcare professionals.Mr. Bansal said coastal Karnataka has emerged as one of India’s promising healthcare destinations, supported by renowned hospitals, quality medical education institutions, advanced clinical expertise, modern healthcare infrastructure, skilled professionals and growing opportunities in medical value travel. The summit seeks to build on these strengths while exploring new opportunities for growth, innovation, and investment in the healthcare sector.The summit will have sessions titled ‘Transforming tier-2 healthcare: The Mangaluru model for scalable excellence’; ‘MedTech and digital health: Driving the next frontier of healthcare innovation’; ‘Fireside chat: The future doctor—skills beyond medicine’; ‘An investor’s perspective on the healthcare sector’; and ‘Preventive healthcare in non-communicable diseases and strengthening community health systems’.Health and Family Welfare Minister U.T. Khader will inaugurate the summit. K. Sharath Rao, vice-chancellor, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, and Vijay Bhaskaran, convener, CII Karnataka Healthcare Taskforce and executive director, Kauvery Hospitals, Bengaluru, will participate in the inaugural session.Mr. Bansal said the summit will serve as an important platform to discuss strategies for strengthening healthcare delivery, attracting investments, promoting innovation, improving patient outcomes and positioning Mangaluru as a globally competitive healthcare destination.Gaurav Hegde, former chairman, CII Mangaluru chapter, Yeneopya Ajml, managing director, Unity Hospital, and others were present.
