The compact SUV segment in South Africa has gained another contender with the arrival of the GWM ORA 5. The newcomer arrives with a choice of petrol, hybrid and fully electric derivatives.
Developed on GWM's ONE architecture, the ORA 5 has been engineered to accommodate three drivetrain options while maintaining the same design, cabin space and technology across the range. Six derivatives are available with pricing starting at R364 900.
The ORA 5 retains the quirky rounded styling that has become synonymous with the ORA brand but adapts it to a more traditional SUV shape, measuring 4,471mm in length and riding on a 2,720mm wheelbase.
The front end is characterised by circular LED headlights, complemented by welcome lighting functions, while roof rails are fitted as standard. It has a higher driving position and increased practicality compared with the smaller ORA hatchback.
