Tirunelveli District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TDCCI) is organising the three-day Food Technology, Kitchen, Catering Expo at Tirunelveli Corporation Trade Centre from August 14.Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, its president Gunasingh Chellathurai of Bell Group of Companies, said this exclusive event would bring together a good number of manufacturers, traders, professionals connected to food and catering business. The objective behind organising this expo was to tell the aspirants how tech-driven machineries and business contacts had made this ever-growing industry a successful model.The expo would provide the right platform for food processors, food and beverage traders, exporters and importers, allied machinery manufacturers, caterers, event managers, entrepreneurs etc. to showcase their products and expose others to the modern gadgets of this rapidly expanding business.Food processing and packaging machinery, importers and exporters of food and beverages, millets, masala, edible oils, dry fruits and nuts, meat, seafood, organic food, pet food, animal food etc. would be on display. The expo would also showcase catering equipment, refrigeration units, costumes restaurant furniture, waste disposal units etc.Moreover, Tamil Nadu Industries Investment Corporation, Tamil Nadu Small Industries Development Corporation Limited, National Food Testing Laboratory, Food Analysis Laboratory, hotel management institutes, banks etc. would be there to guide the entrepreneurs and those who were already into this business.“The expo will showcase various products and services connected to food technology, kitchens and catering, which collectively ensure successful food and catering business. So, we’re bringing together a wide range of exhibitors, experts and resources under one roof where the visitors can connect with a wide array of services connected to this ever-growing industry,” said Mr. Gunasingh, chairman of this expo.He hoped that the expo to be held in the centrally air-conditioned Trade Centre of Tirunelveli, a well-connected tier-2 city by air, rail and road, would attract more than 12,000 visitors from Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Sivaganga and Ramanathapuram districts.Vice-chairman of this expo A.
