The Tamil Nadu Hotels Association on Tuesday said that restaurants had increased food prices only by 5% to 10% due to an increase in commercial LPG cylinder prices. Quality and quantity of food had not changed.
Addressing presspersons, Association President M. Venkadasubbu said that food was available at all price ranges and restaurants had also adjusted their menus according to popularity and fuel required to cook. He also said that many restaurants, both large and small, had shifted to alternate fuels for cooking.
In an attempt to bring together all categories of hotels, restaurants, cafes, and bakeries, the Association will conduct UNAVU EXE 2026, a three-day B2B event at the Chennai Trade Centre from October 1.
The expo will feature over 200 leading companies showcasing 500+ brands and is expected to attract more than 15,000 business visitors from across India. The exhibition will highlight innovations in food processing, automation, and industrial kitchen solutions.
Other office bearers including D. Srinivasan, M. Ravi, K. T. Srinivasa Raja, and R. Srinivasan were present on the occasion.
