Prince Mpiyakhe Buthelezi accepts an appointment letter as the new spokesperson from King Misuzulu kaZwelithini on Tuesday night while inkosi Zuzifa Buthelezi conducts salutation.
AmaZulu king Misuzulu kaZwelithini and the royal family has a new spokesperson in the name of Prince Mpiyakhe Buthelezi from KwaPhindangene Traditional Council.
Prince Buthelezi’s appointment on Tuesday evening, a half-brother of the former Traditional Prime Minister, the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi marks the formal end of Prince Thulani Zulu’s era as the king and the Zulu royal spokesperson.
In terms of the statement issued by the king’s private secretary and executive director Arnold Ndamase on Tuesday evening, Prince Buthelezi will serve as the authorised public spokesperson for King Misuzulu kaZwelithini, working closely with the Office of His Majesty in communicating the king's official positions, programmes, engagements and directives. He will also be responsible for ensuring that all official communications issued on behalf of the king are accurate, dignified and consistent with the king's vision and the values of the Zulu Kingdom
“The Office of His Majesty is pleased to announce that His Majesty King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has formally appointed Prince Mpiyakhe Buthelezi as the official spokesperson to His Majesty the King. The appointment is recorded in the official letter of appointment,” read the statement.
