Karnataka’s Minister for Urban Development Yathindra Siddaramaiah inspected the solid waste management plant in Vidyaranyapuram, and reviewed the construction of flyovers during his visit to Mysuru on July 7.During his visit to the solid waste management plant at Vidyaranyapuram, which is managed by the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC), Mr Yathindra was briefed by officials on the functioning of the unit, waste segregation, the scientific waste disposal system, measures being taken for environmental protection, and the infrastructure available at the facility.Stating that scientific management of solid waste is crucial for maintaining cleanliness in urban areas, Dr. Yathindra directed the officials to ensure that there is no negligence in waste management, and to further strengthen the system for greater efficiency. He instructed the officials to accord priority to all measures required for environmentally sustainable and eco-friendly solid waste management.Flyovers being built in MysuruMr. Yathindra inspected the construction of flyovers at Manipal Hospital junction on the Mysuru-Bengaluru highway, and another one near the junction of Ring Road and Mysuru-Nanjangud highway.He directed officials to ensure that the projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining high quality standards.The Minister held detailed discussions with officials on various aspects of their execution, including the quality of construction and implementation.Dr. Yathindra directed the officials to ensure that the construction activity does not cause inconvenience to people or traffic disruptions. He asked them to take appropriate precautionary measures and accord priority to road safety and smooth traffic management during the execution of the projects.Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru G.
