Legrand, a global leader in electrical and digital building infrastructures, has delivered the digital infrastructure for a new artificial intelligence (AI) data center at Yerevan State University, the Republic of Armenia’s largest and leading university.
The facility is home to a government-funded supercomputer equipped with 64 NVIDIA H100 GPUs and is designed to strengthen Armenia’s national capabilities in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing (HPC). The shared scientific infrastructure will support advanced research, accelerate innovation, and help modernize education and training across the country.
The AI data center was officially inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, during a high-level opening ceremony attended by senior government officials and university leaders, highlighting the facility’s strategic importance to Armenia’s digital and scientific development.
Yerevan State University required a modern, scalable, and energy-efficient data center capable of supporting advanced AI and HPC workloads while enabling future expansion. The facility was designed to provide capacity headroom for future GPU racks and to meet the highest European safety and efficiency standards.
