The latest complaint added to a long history of grievances by rank-and-file police officers over delays in salary payments, poor welfare and inadequate working conditions.

Fresh concerns have emerged over the welfare of personnel of the Nigeria Police Force following allegations that many officers are yet to receive their June 2026 salaries despite the country already being several days into July.

A human rights activist, Comrade Segun Oluwasanmi, who raised the alarm urged the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force to ensure prompt payment of officers' wages.

In a statement made available to SaharaReporters on Tuesday, Oluwasanmi appealed to individuals with access to the police hierarchy to intervene, stressing that many officers depend entirely on their monthly salaries for survival.

According to Oluwasanmi, despite the calendar advancing into July, a number of police officers had yet to receive their June salaries.
