The decision by President Cyril Ramaphosa to consider extending the mandate of the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has drawn widespread praise.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s indication that the deadline for the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry could be extended has been well received, with experts saying the inquiry has a vast amount of rot to dig through.
This after Ramaphosa on Monday said he was open to granting the commission additional time if commissioners determine that an extension is necessary.
The commission was established following explosive allegations of corruption within the country’s criminal justice system made by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi.
Since then, several arrests have been made, and several police officers have been suspended.
