More than a year after the official opening of the French Embassy in Samoa, two French senators visited Samoa as members of the France-Pacific Island States Friendship Group.

French senators Christophe-André Frassa and Guy Benarroche made their first official visit to Samoa, where they met with Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Auapaau Aloitafua Mulipola and toured the new Parliament building.

“This first official visit from France marks a concrete step in strengthening ties between the two countries,” a press statement said.

According to the official Parliament of Samoa Facebook page, Auapaau acknowledged France’s commitment to advancing cooperation with Samoa.

“Auapaau reiterated that the Parliament of Samoa continues to remain forward-looking,” the post said.
