Isithombe AMAZULU head coach Arthur Zwane and club president Sandile Zungu are both linked with top roles at Safa.
The reports linking Arthur Zwane with a role within the Bafana Bafana setup – whether as head coach or assistant – could very well bring much-needed continuity and balance to the national team structures for the future.
Reports emerged on Tuesday that Zwane has submitted his resume for the Bafana job with the intention of succeeding incumbent Hugo Broos. He joins Pitso Mosimane on Safa's shortlist of potential candidates, whose interest in the role was recently made public by the association.
Mosimane is already heavily favored for the position. He knows Safa well, having been part of the national structures before, and boasts elite, heavy-duty coaching experience following highly successful spells at Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly.
But while Mosimane will likely beat out his competitors, Zwane could bring a breath of fresh air to the national team. Whether as the head man or as an assistant– especially to someone like Mosimane – the 51-year-old has plenty to offer.
