District Collector Ranjeet Singh chaired a career guidance and counselling meeting with the students who had passed Plus Two but are yet to join colleges.The meeting was organised to ensure cent per cent admission of the students in the colleges after passing the Plus Two public examination held in March last. As some of the students are yet to get admission in the course of their choice and some of them could not continue their studies due to various reasons including poverty, the Collector organised the meeting which was attended by the dropouts and their parents.After ensuring the admission of these students in the colleges following due counselling by the experts, Mr. Ranjeet Singh made arrangements for disbursal of educational loans to some of the poor students.“We’ll shortly organise education loan mela in the district. You can avail the loan by visiting these special camps. We’ve created career guidance and counselling centre at the Collectorate which can be contacted via 87547 49837 for getting any help relating to higher studies,” the Collector said.While students above the age of 18 can avail educational loans in their names, the parents of minors can apply via http://www.vidyalakshmi.com. Educational loan up to ₹7.50 lakh will be disbursed within 15 days from the date of applying.The Collector received 155 petitions from the participant students and asked the officials concerned to find the right solutions immediately.
