Maya C. Nair, former Head of the Department of Botany at Government Victoria College, Palakkad, took charge as Principal on Monday (July 7, 2026). She had earlier served as Principal of Government Arts and Science College, Tholanur.A former student of Victoria College and a noted botanist, Dr. Nair has also served earlier as Principal-in-charge, vice-principal and hostel warden at the institution.The Palghat Victoria College Old Students Association, of which she is an executive member, said she is the first Principal of the college to have held all three roles after studying there.
