Three people were killed and 14 injured when a minibus and a car collided on the N2 between Heidelberg and Riversdale on Tuesday morning.
The two towns lie along the Garden Route in the Western Cape, roughly 300km east of Cape Town.
Provincial traffic chief Maxine Bezuidenhout said the crash happened at about 10am.
"We confirm a collision occurred involving a minibus and a light motor vehicle," she said.
