The raid was confirmed in separate telephone conversations by human rights lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, as well as eyewitnesses familiar with the incident.
The controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), took a fresh turn on Monday after police operatives reportedly stormed the Ogbomoso, Oyo State, residence of the family of Prince Adeyemi Adeniyi, the central figure in an ongoing forgery investigation linked to the purported council, and arrested his father.
The operation, which reportedly took place at the family's residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has sparked criticism from legal practitioners and residents, with allegations that the arrest amounts to an unlawful attempt to compel Adeniyi to surrender himself to law enforcement authorities.
According to information gathered by PUNCH, the police also arrested a family friend who had visited the residence on Monday morning. The incident reportedly left Adeniyi's elderly mother in shock as officers conducted the operation.
The latest development comes amid an ongoing investigation into the activities surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), whose authenticity has been denied by the Nigerian Presidency.
