Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Indonesia is expected to result in new orders for Brahmos and Astra missiles, sources said. As a part of three nation official visit, Modi reached Jakarta last evening.Talking about the outcomes of Indonesia visit, a source said that after the proven success of India’s air to air missile power in Operation Sindoor, Indonesia has decided to import Indian-made Astra missiles. “Indonesia will expand its Brahmos inventory, India to support Indonesia with more batteries,” he said. Further both countries to jointly develop Sabang port which overlooks the Strait of Malacca, and is 100 miles away from India’s Great Nicobar port projectAnother outcome would be development of Electronic Voting Machines. ”In a big endorsement of India’s election management model, India to support development of Indonesia specific EVMs,” he said. Also, to strengthen critical mineral supply chain, India to invest in manufacturing of steel, nickel and rare earth permanent magnets in Indonesia, the source added.On Tuesday Modi was accorded a grand ceremonial welcome when he arrived for talks with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. Modi arrived in Indonesia on Monday on the first leg of his three-nation tour, aimed at further strengthening India’s Act East Policy, MAHASAGAR Vision and its commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.Also, Prime Minister Modi signed a guest book when he met President Subianto at the Istana Negara in Jakarta.
