Among agreements announced by President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after their bilateral talks in Jakarta are contracts for BrahMos missiles, as well as air-to-air missiles with Bharat Dynamics Ltd.

President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi have signed a series of landmark agreements on missile systems and critical minerals, as both leaders seek to bolster strategic ties amid rising geopolitical competition in the Indo-Pacific.The signing took place during Modi’s two-day state visit to Indonesia, the first stop of his tour to three nations including Australia and New Zealand. The trip, according to Modi, aims at advancing India’s Act East policy and Global South-oriented Mahasagar vision, as well as strengthening its commitment to a free, open and inclusive Indo-Pacific.
Modi arrived in Jakarta on Monday afternoon. Upon entering Indonesia’s airspace, his plane was escorted by five Air Force fighter jets. The prime minister was later welcomed personally by Prabowo and four cabinet members at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in East Jakarta.
