A presidential aspirant of the Peoples Redemption Party for the 2027 general elections, Yakubu Kingsley, has condemned the continued attacks on Nigerians living abroad, particularly in South Africa, and called on the Federal Government to strengthen diplomatic efforts to protect its citizens.

He described the persistent attacks on Nigerians and other African foreign nationals abroad as unacceptable.

Kingsley made the call in a statement personally signed on Monday and made available to journalists in Abuja.

He expressed concern over what he described as escalating xenophobic attacks in South Africa, saying reports of criminal gangs and self-appointed groups issuing ultimatums to Nigerians and other foreign nationals to leave communities without lawful authority posed a serious threat to lives and democratic values.

He said, “I express profound concern over the persistent and escalating attacks against Nigerian citizens and other foreign nationals in the Republic of South Africa, as well as the growing trend of anti-foreigner sentiments, discrimination, intimidation, extortion and unlawful persecution being experienced by Nigerians in different parts of the world.
