The K.K. Nagar police on Sunday arrested six persons from a house here and seized from them ₹14.40 lakh cash, 153 ATM cards, 52 mobile phones, 21 SIM cards, a cash counting machine, a laptop, a modem, three two-wheelers, a car and a drill machine. The accused did not possess any documents in support of the cash in their possession, said the police.The house located at Subramaniapuram is owned by A. Nasurudeen who lives at Anand Nagar in K.K. Nagar area. A person by name M. Thameem Ansari, 28, hailing from Ramanathapuram district, had taken the house on rent. The person who was managing the property, informed Mr. Nasurudeen that some suspicious persons were staying along with Thameem Ansari. Mr. Nasurudeen checked the house at Subramaniyapuram on Sunday and asked Thameem Ansari to vacate the place. Those staying in the house allegedly abused and assaulted Mr. Nasurudeen and threatened him.Based on a complaint from Mr. Nasurudeen, the K.K. Nagar police arrested six persons: Thameem Ansari, K. Palani Murugan, 29; K. Rajkumar, 22, M. Praveen, 24, M. Muthamilselvan, 24, and A. Asmir Ali, 32 — all from Ramanathapuram district.
