22 trains affected as heavy rains disrupt rail traffic on busy Ahmedabad–Mumbai corridor

Heavy rains and waterlogging in Mumbai’s Western Railway network have disrupted train services on one of India’s busiest rail corridors connecting Ahmedabad and Mumbai, leading to cancellations, short terminations, diversions and delays affecting at least 22 trains on Monday.According to the Ahmedabad division of Western Railway, waterlogging between Safale, Kelve Road, Vasai Road and Nalasopara stations in the Mumbai Central Division impacted train operations. The situation was further aggravated by landslides on the Central Railway network, forcing several long-distance trains to be diverted.Partially cancelledA total of seven train pairs (14 train services) were partially cancelled or short-terminated.These include the Karnavati Express, Suryanagari Express, Double Decker Express, Ajmer–Dadar Express, Ahmedabad–Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, Ahmedabad–Mumbai Tejas Express, and Bhuj–Dadar Superfast Express, with services originating or terminating at stations such as Valsad, Vapi, Surat, Navsari and Bilimora instead of Mumbai.In addition, seven trains were regulated en route, including the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Double Decker Express, Ahmedabad–Mumbai Tejas Express, Gujarat Superfast Express, Bhuj–Dadar Superfast Express, Porbandar–Dadar Saurashtra Express, Bikaner–Yesvantpur Express and Hisar–Secunderabad Superfast Express.Another eight long-distance trains were diverted via alternate routes through Manmad, Jalgaon, Paldhi and Daund due to landslides on the Central Railway network. These include the Ahmedabad–Chennai Express, Pune–Bhuj Express, Pune–Ahmedabad Duronto Express, Chennai–Ahmedabad Express and Rajkot–Secunderabad Express, among others.Published on July 6, 2026
