The dog was found toed up on the beach

The Cape of Good Hope SPCA has launched an urgent investigation after a dog was allegedly subjected to a brutal and deliberate attack on a beach alongside Baden Powell Drive, with officials appealing to the public for information that could help identify those responsible.

The horrific incident happened on Wednesday, 1 July, when a group of children who walked past the beach witnessed, what the SPCA has described, as an appalling act of animal cruelty.

According to the organisation, the children saw three men assaulting a dog whose front and back legs had been tightly bound. The men allegedly kicked the helpless animal before setting their own dogs on him.

The distressed dog cried out in pain, prompting the children to immediately alert their father.
