Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, have rescued six abducted persons, including two infants, in Borno State, as the military intensified ongoing search-and-rescue operations aimed at recovering victims of terrorist attacks across the North-East.
The military said the latest breakthrough followed sustained air and ground operations backed by credible intelligence, leading to the successful rescue of the victims at Talakawa in Chibok Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued on Saturday evening by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the rescued victims comprised four adults and two infants who were abducted in Mussa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area in May.
The statement read, "Headquarters, Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), wishes to inform the public that troops have recorded another significant breakthrough in the ongoing Search and Rescue operation to recover the abducted students of Government Day Secondary School, Lassa."
It added, "Following sustained air and ground exploitation supported by credible intelligence, troops successfully rescued six additional abducted persons comprising four adults and two infants at Talakawa in Chibok Local Government Area."
