The campaign council demanded that the police release all video recordings and confessional statements obtained from the suspects, insisting that Nigerians deserved access to the complete evidence.
The Imole Campaign Council (TICC), the campaign organisation of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has accused the Director-General of the AMBO Campaign, Hon. Wole Oke, and the Osun State Police Command of allegedly colluding to fabricate an assassination plot for political purposes, calling on the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission to order an independent investigation into the matter.
The "AMBO" campaign refers to the 2026 governorship bid of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Osun State governorship election. The election is scheduled for August 15, 2026.
The allegation was made on Sunday, by the spokesperson for the council, Pelumi Olajengbesi Esq., during a press conference, where he claimed that a newly surfaced video had contradicted the police's account of the alleged assassination attempt on Wole Oke.
According to Olajengbesi, "The Imole Campaign Council is compelled to address the public following the emergence of a video evidence that completely exposes the false narrative surrounding the purported assassination attempt on one Hon Wole Oke, the AMBO Campaign DG."
