The Imole Campaign Council has defended Governor Ademola Adeleke over recent remarks directed at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, insisting that the governor did not attack the President but merely appealed for his intervention to guarantee free, fair and peaceful elections in Osun State.
It alleged that 45 of Adeleke’s supporters were killed during the 2022 governorship election violence.
The Imole Campaign Council coordinates Adeleke reelection strategy in the upcoming August 15, 2026, governorship election.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Director General of the Imole Campaign Organisation, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, the campaign council accused the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State of deliberately misrepresenting the governor's comments.
