T1, one of the most recognizable brands in competitive gaming, has promoted Kang “DH” Dong-ho from its academy squad back to the main Valorant roster. The move, first reported by Sheep Esports on June 15, positions the 20-year-old duelist and flex player to rejoin a lineup that already includes some of the most talented competitors in the Pacific region.
What happened and why it matters
DH’s return to the main roster is essentially a reversal of a move T1 made in late November 2025. Back then, the organization reassigned him to its academy team to make room for Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom, an in-game leader brought in to shore up the team’s strategic calling.
With VCT Pacific Stage 2 on the horizon for mid-2026, T1 is expanding its active player pool rather than making a straight swap. DH slots back in alongside Munchkin, stax, Meteor, BuZz, and iZu, giving the coaching staff more flexibility in how they construct lineups for different maps and matchups.
Born on May 11, 2006, DH is just 20 years old. T1’s 2025 campaign included a spot at Masters Bangkok, one of the premier international Valorant events. Bringing DH back suggests the coaching staff saw enough during his academy stint to believe he’s ready to contribute at the highest level again, not as a replacement for anyone, but as an addition to an already deep squad.
