Russia's Black Sea Fleet has suffered such significant losses and faces such effective resistance from Ukraine's Defense Forces that it no longer risks putting to sea even to launch Kalibr cruise missiles.
Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated this in a comment to Ukrinform.
"The latest attack involving Kalibr missiles, which now occurs quite rarely - about once a month - was most likely carried out directly from the fleet's home port. In other words, they no longer risk going to sea even to launch cruise missiles," he said.
According to Pletenchuk, at the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion, Russian warships operated close to Ukraine's coastline, whereas the situation has now changed dramatically.
