Fnatic has signed Ukrainian rifler Artem “cairne” Mushynskyi as a replacement for Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson, closing the book on one of the longest player-organization relationships in Counter-Strike history. KRIMZ spent nearly 12 years with the org, a tenure so long it predates entire esports careers, sponsorship cycles, and the transition from CS:GO to CS2 itself.
The move completes Fnatic’s shift to an all-Ukrainian roster, a strategic pivot that would have sounded absurd even two years ago for a team historically associated with Swedish Counter-Strike royalty.
From top 30 to near-obscurity
Fnatic’s ranking in the Valve Regional Standings cratered to approximately 80th, a number that puts them closer to amateur squads than to the elite tier they once dominated. Fnatic was hovering around the borderline of the top 30 before this season.
The most painful consequence of that decline was failing to qualify for the IEM Cologne Major. Fnatic won two CS:GO Majors in 2013 and 2015, establishing a dynasty that defined an era.
