Thoothukudi South police on Sunday seized eight country-made bombs from the house of an accused remanded in judicial custody.Police identified the accused as Ajith Kumar, 23, a criminal offender from Anna Nagar in Thoothukudi. He and his accomplice were arrested on July 3 in another case. Based on the information obtained during the interrogation of Ajith Kumar, police conducted a search of his house and found eight country-made bombs.The Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad was called to the spot. Following prescribed safety protocols, the country-made bombs were safely secured and taken into police custody. Further investigation is under way. Published - July 05, 2026 08:43 pm IST
