Everton has locked in a deal to sign 20-year-old winger Tyrique George from Chelsea in a transfer package worth up to £24 million. The upfront fee sits at £18 million, with an additional £6 million in performance-based add-ons tied to appearances and European qualification.

Chelsea has secured a 15% sell-on clause, meaning they’ll get a cut of any future transfer fee if George moves on.

The deal structure and what it tells us

George’s temporary move to Goodison Park began in February 2026, and his performances during the latter portion of the 2025/26 season were apparently convincing enough for Everton to push for a permanent arrangement.

The original loan deal included a £25 million option to buy. Everton managed to renegotiate that figure down to an £18 million upfront fee with conditional add-ons.
