Everton and Chelsea are closing in on a permanent deal for Tyrique George, with negotiations centered on a transfer fee significantly lower than the £25 million option to buy that was baked into his original loan agreement. The two clubs are reportedly hoping to wrap things up by the end of this week.
George, who turned 20 in February, spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at Goodison Park after joining on February 2. He made 11 appearances without finding the back of the net.
The numbers behind the negotiation
George’s current market value sits at around €20 million according to Transfermarkt. The initial fee being discussed in the current negotiations is set to come in well below the original £25 million option.
George himself has reportedly expressed a desire to stay at Everton rather than return to Chelsea’s squad.
