He died of cancer on July 3, which was the same day the pop star married Travis Kelce in New York City. Schwabe taught criminal justice at Hendersonville High School, where Swift was a student from 2004 to 2006. He later worked as Swift's security guard from 2009, at her father's request, before leaving the role a few years later due to burnout. Swift previously honoured Schwabe by naming a character after him in the film "Valentine's Day" and reportedly drew inspiration from his lessons for her songs.
