Societal expectations and the pressure to “be strong” often make men less likely to talk about their feelings or seek treatment for conditions such as depression and anxiety.
The past month of June was Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. It is dedicated to breaking toxic notions of masculinity, raising awareness of men’s overall well-being, and encouraging men to speak up and seek professional help.
To the menfolk, this is a reminder that strength isn’t silence. Speaking up and showing vulnerability are acts of true courage.

Most people do a little compulsory stretching before they exercise, but perhaps we should do more. Two studies, one in 2020 and another in 2023, found that stretching was associated with a lower risk of death, separate and apart from other forms of exercise.
