Kanniyakumari district police have launched a special drive called ‘Operation Cape Vigil-2’ across the district to take strict action against criminal elements and habitual offenders.The operation involves a large team of police officials, including two Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), six Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), 18 Inspectors, 30 Sub Inspectors and 226 constables deployed across the district to ensure coordinated action.As part of the drive, intensive searches were conducted at the houses of 184 history-sheeters in the district and subsequently legal actions have been initiated against 65 individuals so far.The ongoing initiative has been undertaken as a part of the measure to curb further criminal activities in the district and to maintain strict surveillance over habitual offenders.Kanniyakumari District Superintendent of Police R. Stalin stated that the drive would be intensified across the district and legal action would be taken against those involved in unlawful activities, further disturbing public peace and repeatedly engaging in criminal offences.
