MOSCOW, July 4. /TASS/. "The Federal Security Service has identified and suppressed unlawful activity by an agent of foreign intelligence services who was collecting information that could be used to the detriment of our contry's security," the FSB stated.
According to the agency, the resident of Anapa, born in 1980, established contact with an SBU representative on his own initiative and agreed to assist in sabotage and terrorist-related activities. "On instructions from his handler, he collected and transmitted information on the location of Defense Ministry units and critical energy infrastructure facilities in the Krasnodar Region, and recorded radio signal levels in areas of interest to the military, which could be used by the armed forces of Ukraine for planning missile and air strikes," the statement said.
It also noted that one of the SBU tasks involved obtaining information about the arrival schedules of government officials and foreign delegations at restricted sites in Sochi, as well as security arrangements and air defense positions.
