Sir, – As Kyiv reels from the latest Russian war crimes (mass missile and drone attacks on civilian targets), the supporting words of Taoiseach Micheál Martin to Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskiy ring increasingly hollow. The Government continues to duck and dive on the issue of Aughinish Alumina exports to Russia (is nationalisation not an option at this stage?) and adds insult to injury by offering death trap armoured vehicles to Ukraine on top of cutting supports to nationals in the country. My late father had a saying that if you are doing a job, do it seriously or do not bother in the first place. It is advice that both the Government and Opposition here should bear in mind. – Yours, etc,MICHAEL FLYNN,Bayside,Dublin 13.
Ireland’s support of Ukraine looks increasingly like lip service
