Israel’s attempts to pressure Turkiye doomed to fail

Israel appears to be pulling every lever at once in an attempt to pressure Turkiye, challenging its interests on every front — from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Levant and from the Horn of Africa to the South Caucasus. The Israeli government on Sunday decided to recognize the events of 1915 as genocide, in contrast to its decades-long policy. The Cabinet vote was proposed by Gideon Sa’ar, the foreign minister. It was previously Sa’ar who, in his first speech after taking office, suggested Israel reach out to the Kurds in an attempt to pressure Turkiye.
