The head of the Chinmaya Mission in South Africa, Pujya Swami Abhedananda
TEN thousand people. One eternal prayer.
On Sunday, thousands of people from across KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng will descend on Chatsworth Stadium in a remarkable expression of faith, unity and hope.
For four hours, one of Durban's best-known sporting venues will be transformed into a sea of saffron flags, sacred chants and shared devotion as more than 10,000 people gather to chant the Hanuman Chalisa, one of Hinduism's most revered devotional hymns.
But for Pujya Swami Abhedananda of Chinmaya Mission South Africa, the gathering, known as From Man to HANUMAN, is about far more than setting what organisers believe could become the largest mass chanting of its kind on African soil.
