The reason for implementing emergency electricity consumption restrictions is the high level of consumption and the overload on power equipment due to the heat.

According to Ukrinform, NEC “Ukrenergo” reported this on Telegram.

“Due to high energy consumption and equipment overload caused by the heat, emergency power outages have been implemented in several regions of Ukraine. Hourly outage schedules are currently not in effect,” the statement reads.

It is noted that the restrictions will be lifted as soon as the situation in the power grid stabilizes. Ukrenergo urges consumers to follow announcements from regional power companies.
