ActionSA's Cape Town mayoral candidate and Member of Parliament Dereleen James and President Herman Mashaba will be in Durban on Saturday for various engagements with the members of the party and the community ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
ActionSA says it will unveil several new leaders joining the party from various political organisations, including a sitting ward councillor, in what it describes as the beginning of a significant political realignment in eThekwini ahead of the 2026 Local Government Elections.
The announcement is scheduled to take place on Saturday morning in Red Hill, north of Durban, and will be led by ActionSA president Herman Mashaba.
The party said the move signals the start of a broader political shift in eThekwini as campaigning for the 2026 municipal elections gathers momentum.
Although ActionSA has not disclosed the identities of the incoming members or the political parties they are leaving, it said the group includes leaders from several parties as well as a serving ward councillor.
