Rooted in the sacred epic, the Mahabharata, the ceremony honours Sri Draupadi Amman, whose steadfast devotion to Dharma (righteousness) inspired generations of devotees.
Many participants undertake the sacred firewalk in fulfilment of vows, to give thanks for answered prayers, or to seek blessings for health, protection, prosperity and peace.
