The archaeological park is the only place in the country where visitors can see back-bred Eurasian aurochs.
A historically significant site has recently opened near the villages of Bošáca and Haluzice in western Slovakia.
A helping hand in the heart of Europe offers our travel guide to Slovakia.
The Archaeopark Bošácka dolina highlights the area's rich archaeological heritage and the lives of the prehistoric peoples who once lived there. It also offers information about traditional crop cultivation and is the only place in Slovakia where back-bred Eurasian aurochs can be observed.
“This locality is exceptional among central European valleys in terms of the number and density of archaeological sites, their historical scope and their social significance,” Drahoslav Hulínek, archaeologist and manager of the archaeological park, told the regional newspaper MY Trenčín.
